Swimming

This term we have been swimming on Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Fridays.Once we had done what the teacher wanted us to do we got to have free time and when it was free time i played with Alyssa,Ty, and Joshua the game we played was catch Ty but Joshua had to block us from getting Ty. I had so much fun going swimming this week and i cant wait to go next week!

Summarising Simple Solution

For reading we have been learning to summarise the text. We have done this by using the who,what,where,when,why and how questions. The book we were reading was called Simple Solution, it was about a truck that got stuck under a bridge and could not get out.

It was easy to read the book.

I was hard to write it all up.   

Next time i need to work on writing more.

Post Card

In writing we have been learning to think about the writers point of view. We are reading the book "The Faraway Tree" by Enid Blyton in class. The book is about a little girl called Connie whose mother is ill so she is sent to live with her Mothers friend and her children, Jo, Bessie,and Franny. The children show her the Faraway Tree and to begin with she doesn't believe them.

We have been talking about how Connie might have felt and what she would have said to her mother. We decided to write a post card from Connie would say.

I did not find anything hard. 

I found it easy to type it all up.

Next time i need to work on typing more. 

Story Telling

During our Te Tuhi workshop "Creative Stories" we learnt about the different ways a story can be told. We explored our story "Quaky Cat" through role play and then created our own posters.

I found it hard to work out what to do on my paper. 

I found it easy to cut the paper out when I new what I was making.

Next time I need to work on doing more on my page.

Blended Giraffe

I had to practice using different line and blending techniques to create a realistic looking giraffe. I found it easy to follow the teachers instructions to create the giraffe shape. It was difficult to keep all the parts in perspective. Next time I will try harder to use blending to show dark and light.

The Daintree Rainforest

We where learning to identify what the author wanted me to feel,think or see.

We read a book and then we made a poster to convince the people that are cutting down the trees and cutting down the animals in the Daintree Rainforest and stop making building in the Daintree Rainforest.

It was easy to find the pictures because all of our group liked them.

It was hard to make everything to fit in.

Next time me and my group could do more hard work.

The Daintree Rainforest

This is my Daintree Rainforest.

I made this because we are learning about the Daintree rainforest at school and I felt like doing it. 

I made this with my Dad and my Mum helped me a little bit.

There is a side with where all the animals live and a side where all the leaf and trees are dead and there 

is a car that is going to break down all the trees.

I was learning to solve fraction problems using addition and multiplication strategies.

We had to use Kidpix to show how we solved our problems.

I found it easy because I've done something like it and I practice at school and home.
